About Outpatient Surgery
According to the Federated Ambulatory Surgery Association, over 50%of all surgical procedures in the United States are now safely performed on an outpatient basis. Ambulatory Surgery Centers are more convenient and comfortable for patients and there are established Federal regulatory agencies to monitor and regulate ASC's. In fact, ASC's are among the most highly regulated providers of ambulatory medical care. All centers approved for Medicare reimbursement must undergo rigorous inspection by the federal government.

Due to advancements in medical technology, surgical procedures such as laser and endoscopic surgery can safely be performed on an outpatient basis. The majority of procedures performed in ambulatory surgery centers fall into these categories: ophthalmology, gynecology, gastroenterology, ear/nose/throat, orthopedic, general surgery, plastic, and podiatry.

The Hernando Endoscopy and Surgery Center is a safe comfortable alternative to inpatient surgery. It is approved to accept Medicare, Medicaid, Blue Cross & Blue Shield and most Major insurance and HMO's.

“Your facility is the best I have experienced.  It is my wish that all would be as fine as yours.” Kathryn , Spring Hill 34606.

What to expect
We strive to provide the highest level of technological skill and personal care to all our patients. In order to make your procedure as relaxed as possible, please follow these guidelines.

  1. On the day of your procedure, plan to spend a total of three (3) hours at the Center.
  2. Arrange before hand to have someone accompany you to the Center and drive you home after the procedure.
  3. Wear comfortable clothing to the Center so that it will be easy for you to change into a gown.
  4. Before your procedure, it is important that you discuss with staff all medications that you are currently taking. In most circumstances, you will be able to continue your usual medications, although some dosage adjustments may be needed for insulin and blood thinners.
  5. Dietary restrictions will be discussed with you at this time.
  6. You will be asked to sign an informed consent. This form states that you have been made aware of the risks and possible complications.
  7. You will be taken into a pre operative area where one of our staff will assist you in preparing for your procedure. An IV will be inserted into your arm so that sedation can be administered at the time of your procedure.
  8. After the procedure, you will rest in the recovery room until the sedation subsides. At that time, we will attempt to answer any questions you may have and give you
    post-operative instructions.

Follow-up
In order to monitor your progress and recovery, someone from our staff will contact you the day after your procedure. At that time, once again we will attempt to answer any remaining questions you may have.
